Summary

The moment Steve turned 18, his bitch of a mother threw him out. That was the last straw. It was time to turn the tables. Obtaining a mind-control potion, he used it on his mother.

Now she was at his beck and call and would do anything he desired.

And what he desired, was her.

Excerpt:

"How dare she do this! Kicking me out of my home when I turned 18! She's a fucking bitch!" Steve stomped back and forth in the kitchen, feeling like a caged animal.

"Calm down. You can stay here as long as you need too." Alfred said, leaning back in his chair. "I know she's treated you like a dog. She corrected you all the time with the belt. She's cucked you big time."

"Thanks, but I want to control her for once." Steve said, stopping as the thought hit him. He shook with fear and anticipation as he looked at his friend.

"You can do that." Alfred said, pulling something out of his pocket and placing it on the table. It was a strange-looking yellow vial.

"What's that?" Steve inquired, looking at it.

"It's a mind-control drug." His friend said, pushing up his glasses.

"You're kidding." Steve scoffed, knowing those things were the stuff of science fiction.

"No, I'm not. Get your mom to drink this and she's yours to do whatever you want." He said with a grin.

"You're pulling my leg." Steve chuckled.

"Nope. Try it. If it doesn't work, I'll give you 100 bucks, If it works I want your mom for a night. Agreed?" Alfred said.

Steve mulled it over and stuck out his hand.

"Mom." Steve called out, entering his former home.

"Get out of my house, bastard. You're an adult now and you're on your own." His mom stormed down the stairs with a belt which she slapped on her palm.

Steve controlled a shudder that threatened to crawl up his spine and clench around his heart. There was nothing more he feared than his mother's wrath.

"I thought you might like some wine. Just wanted to come by and say thanks for kicking me out of the house." The lie slipped from his lips as he went into the kitchen and poured her a glass of wine. He slipped the drug into her drink and brought it to her with the bottle.

Seeking escape, she successfully applies for a job as "companion" to the Earl of Ingleton's sickly seventeen-year-old ward, Lady Alice Hanbury.

It seems too far-fetched to be true – surely the Earl, kindly as he is, will never believe her… Plagued by ghosts in the night, Gina strives to save her new friend from this slow, cold death as she clings to the hope that blossoming friendship and the light of love will chase all this darkness away.
