William B. Bache
William B. Bache was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania in 1922 and, before the war, attended Cornell and Penn State. After getting a Ph. D. from Penn State and teaching there for a year, he was a professor of English at Purdue for forty years and the last surviving founder of Modern Fiction Studied. Since 1951 he has published more than 150 articles, essays, notes, reviews, poems, and short stories, as well as three books on meaning in Shakespeare, notably, Shakespeare’s Deliberate Art.
